Nature of the Sysadmin Blog

When dealing with a lot of different technologies from a lot of different vendors, information overload is inevitable. Solutions to problems and architecture designs begin stacking up in your brain and eventually you run out of mental disk space. So, I see the sysadmin blog as SAN storage for the server that is my brain. It is a searchable database of problems and solutions, tips and tricks that I would have otherwise forgotten if relegated to my brain or a txt file somewhere in the nether regions of the IT file share.

It might help someone else, but that’s beside the point.
